Annual Royal Marine Cadet Field Assesment

May 18/19^th saw the annual Royal Marine Cadets Field Assessments take place at Altcar Training Camp Merseyside.

The assessment is of the Cadets knowledge (both theory and practical) of field craft incorporating section attacks, section battle drills and their teamwork and weapons handing abilities.

The Cadets put a lot of work into their preparation and execution however; this was not reflected in the final scores which were down on last year.

A good effort by those Cadets who attended, they gave 100% commitment 100% of the time we were there. The SRMO a Royal Marine Commando Colour Sgt was complementary on the effort the Cadets put in.

2011 Poppy Appeal Awards

Monday the 23rd May was the 15th North West Poppy Appeal Awards which covered the whole of Lancashire. The awards recognised the achievements of the Cadet Forces from all over Lancashire and covered the Sea cadet Corp, The Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corp. His Lordship the Lord Lieutenant on Lancashire and his Lady Wife were in attendance as were the Mayors of the respective town being represented, the Assistant Chief Constable of Lancashire and the Flight Director of BAE Systems as well as other dignitaries.

Congratulations go to all those Cadets who won awards especially out very own Cadet Corporal Patrick Robinson who won the Individual Runner-Up Award for the for the Sea Cadets.
