Preston Sea Cadets is a voluntary uniformed youth organisation. We are part of the National Sea Cadet organisation with over 400 units and 10,000 members.
Preston Sea Cadets provides young people aged 10 - 18 years (13 to 18 years for Royal Marine Cadets) with valuable academic and vocational training in a number of subjects including the life skills of teamwork, self-respect and social responsibility - the core qualities of good citizenship. TS GALLOWAY provides these educational and training opportunities right in the heart of the community.
Preston Sea Cadet Unit Headquarters was originally a hospital in the First World War (1914). At that time it was situated on Moor Park and was one of several buildings of a similar construction. As far as is known this is the only one left.
1920 Preston Sea Cadet Unit moved to another location in Preston before it arrived on its present site on Strand Road, Preston. PR1 8DT. Preston Sea Cadets celebrated its 90th Birthday in 2010.
