There is a BTEC training weekend being held on the 3 - 4th March 2012 at Northampton Sea Cadet Unit for all cadets registered on the BTEC Public Service Scheme. The day will include the cadets filling in their books which they need to do to complete the scheme.  We are hoping to complete all of the written work in one weekend to allow cadets to easily complete the requirements.

Cadets who registered in previous years and who have not completed the Project book are also encouraged to attend as are cadets who have already completed to a Pass level and wish to upgrade to Merit or Distinction.

We will be joined by Colonel Peter Webb from CVQO who will support the cadets in getting the best out of the written work.

Both days will start at 0900 and we plan to take the cadets bowling on the Saturday evening and accommodate cadets on the Saturday evening if they wish. The weekend will be free of charge but the cadets will be expected to pay for their own bowling and food which will be via organised local minibus journeys to the local Fish and Chip shop for the evening meal and Super Sausage Cafe for Breakfast. The cadets need to join the unit at 0900 (9am) on Saturday n Number 4’s to participate fully in the weekend. If the cadets do not wish to stay overnight they are to rejoin at 0900 on Sunday morning.

The following equipment is required by cadets:

Sleeping Bag Night Clothes Washkit
Soft Shoes Notepad Pencil/Pens SCC T1
No4 Uniform Boots Beret
Small amount of pocket money for Meals / Standeasy (£10 max)

The highest standard of behavior will be expected from cadets attending the unit weekend any cadet falling short of these standards will be sent home.

SCCT1s attached are to be handed into the ships office as soon as possible.
