Llanelli Sea Cadets was formed during Warship week in 1942. The town and people of Llanelli helped raise over £400,000 in order to pay for a ship. This ship was HMS Echo. Following this the Llanelli Sea Cadets was formed as Training Ship, or T.S. Echo.
Since then we have relied on public donations to keep us running. We work hard to support the community not only by training youth and keeping them off the streets twice a week but also by attending charity events, partaking in parades and ceremonies and various other activities.
Who runs it?
The staff at T.S.ECHO are all volunteers who give their time up to run the cadet
unit. There are a number of volunteers at the unit, listed below.
All of our staff are trained in child protection and are CRB cleared.
