The Bideford and District Sea Cadet Parent Supporters Group organises and coordinates fundraising activities for the cadets throughout the year. Without fundraising the unit would not be able to continue running. A percentage of the money raised goes towards the general running of the unit with the remainder being available for extra items such as sailing equipment, and fun activities such as Ten Pin bowling, the Christmas party and assisting towards the cost of Off Shore sailing.
We are always in need of volunteers to assist with our fundraising events. The most dedicated cadets who regularly volunteer are rewarded for their commitment, but we also need adults - parents, grandparents, older siblings or family friends - to help supervise.
Fundraising is a great way to meet the public, many of whom have a story to tell of their days in the sea cadets or armed forces, and it is great to hear them sing the praises of our cadets, particularly when one of them is your child!
We only ask for a couple of hours at each event, so please come along and join us. Letters are sent out prior to each event, it would be great to see you!
