About Our Unit

Our Unit - T.S. NUBIAN

Accrington Sea Cadets are a highly successful unit which is constantly seeking out new ways of improving the opportunities we offer to our cadets and the community. We pride ourselves on our high standards in everything we do, so much so that we have been awarded a unit efficiency pennant for the Fourth year running.

All of our cadets are encouraged to achieve their full potential; they are also given every opportunity to demonstrate their strengths, whilst being supported to develop their weaknesses.

It is one of our aims that when a cadet leaves our unit, they will leave it having developed a wide range of life changing skills, self confidence and respect for others.

This website will provide you with important information about us. However, should you wish to know more information please contact us and we will gladly speak to you.

What our staff and cadets think!

What do you like about cadets?

"The people you meet are nice and the courses are fun!"    P.Hester - Able Cadet

What sort of courses have you been on?

"I have completed my Cook Steward 2nd Class, First Aid 2nd Class I have also attended courses on rowing and Kayaking. I have attended the past 3 Summer Camps which were really fun, I also gained several specialisations whilst on the camps. Last year I attended a Full Bore Shooting Course at HMS Caledonia in Scotland which was a right laugh, i got to meet lots of cadets from all over the country." P.Hester - Able Cadet

As a new cadet, Would you say Accrington Sea Cadets is an enjoyable organisation to be a part of?

"Yes, because even though I am new to it, I was made to feel welcome. Everyone was nice to me and I made friends quickly. Although I was nervous at first the kindness of all the other cadets and staff ensured that I fit in and felt comfortable. There is always time for fun and no one is left out."  S.Melia - New Entry
