Carrickfergus Sea Cadets Win Achievement Award

At an award ceremony by the North Eastern Education and

 Library Board, Carrickfergus Sea Cadets were awarded

the Nolan Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Achievements

in Youth Developement. the trophy was presented by

 Mr Pat Morgan, Assistant Senior Education Officer, and

received on behalf of the Unit by Able Cadet Rachel Hodgson

And Leading Cadet Phil Crozier.

District 5-a-side Competion 2011

2nd January 2011 saw the annual District 5-a-side competition,

held at Carrickfergus Leisure Centre. Teams from Sea Cadet Units

 across the Northern Ireland gathered with teams of boys and girls

 at junior and senior level. The aim of the competition is to firstly

 see who the overal Champions are, but to also make a selection

from all the players who showed promise and determination, to

represent Northern Ireland in the National Competition held in

England. Overall winners were Carrickfergus, but unfortunatley the

National Competition had to be cancelled due to problems at the

Venue.
